It is with great concern and sadness that the management of Alorica acknowledges that members of our Alorica team at our Portmore, St. Catherine facility have tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Virus. In light of this development, we have closed both our Portmore and Kingston locations as we work closely with the Ministry of Health and Wellness and its Agencies to mitigate the further spread of this disease.
At Alorica, the health and well-being of our entire Alorica team is our highest priority and is an essential pillar of all our operations globally. We further note that to ensure their safety during the COVID-19 pandemic we have taken every necessary action to remain in complete compliance with all regulations and recommended safety and hygiene measures outlined by the Government of Jamaica.
This has included implementing social distancing behavioral and operational guidelines; complete compliance with all Ministry of Health and Wellness facility inspections; initiating work from home protocols where possible; ensuring adequate sanitization and hand washing products are available to all Alorica team members; and the implementation of a robust schedule of cleaning and sanitization activities at all our facilities.
It is therefore unfortunate that despite our best efforts, like so many other companies around the world, the robust precautionary measures we established were unable to withstand the highly infectious nature of the COVID-19 disease. We take the COVID-19 disease seriously and have taken all measures to protect our Alorica team members.
Alorica would like to recognize the Government of Jamaica’s highly commendable approach to managing COVID-19 and reassure the public that we will continue to fully cooperate with the Government and all its agencies towards the expedient and efficient management of this matter. Furthermore, we maintain our unwavering dedication to our Alorica team members and stand committed to providing all possible support during this difficult time.
